Biography

Haddon was born and raised in Montréal, Québec, Canada - and therefore speaks both English and French. As a child, she was enrolled in dancing classes to develop her physique, and she performed well enough to become a member of Les Grandes Ballets Canadiennes at 13. Her good looks and physique provided an easy entree to modelling, and she quickly became a 1970's and 80's super model whose face represented Max Factor, Revlon, Estee Lauder, L'Oreal and appeared on a cover of Sports Illustrated. Her looks enabled a move to Hollywood, where she landed a role in the Disney movie The World's Greatest Athlete (1973). Disney saw a future for her in their films, but Dayle had other ideas - and did a nude pictorial for Playboy. She moved to Europe, continued modelling, landed a string of softcore film roles and occasional small parts in American movies. Her best known role is in Just Jaeckin's Madame Claude (1977). Dayle's husband died suddenly in 1991, leaving her with little money and a fifteen-year-old daughter to raise alone. No longer able to afford to live in her house, and having been rejected for age reasons by all the modelling agencies, she rented out her home and moved into a small maid's room off a friend's kitchen.
