Biography

Early years

In 1961, at age 14, Lind was discovered at a local pool in Burbank by photographer Leon Beauchemin. This led to two appearances on the cover of Teen magazine. Her photographer friend Leon talked her into testing for Playboy. At 19, she was selected to be the Playboy Playmate for August 1967. The photography was done by Mario Casilli. The magazine received a record number of fan mail. Dede recieved the most fan mail more than any other Playboy Playmate in history. DeDe was no longer in demand as a teen model, but the Playboy appearance did open some doors for her. She modeled for some European magazines, but passed up most modelling assignments in order to have more time for herself.


Later career

DeDe remarried in the 1970s and continued her association with Playboy, attending special events and parties as well as Friday and Sunday night movies at the Playboy Mansion.
