The DeFranco Family was an early- and mid-1970spop music group from Port Colborne, Ontario, Canada. Consisting of Benny, Marisa, Merlina, Nino, and lead singer Tony, this group had a number of hits between 1972 and 1977, including "Abra-Ca-Dabra" and their biggest hit, "Heartbeat, It's a Lovebeat." The five DeFrancos - Benny, Marisa, Nino, Merlina and Tony - were born and raised in Port Colborne and Welland, Ontario, by Italian immigrant parents Antonio and Maria, the DeFranco children all experimented with musical instruments at an early age.

In recent years The DeFrancoFamily have reunited including an appearance at Rhino Records' annual RetroFest and on April 13, 2000 at B.B. King's nightclub in Los Angeles to coincide with a long overdue CD re-issue of their best material on a K-Tel Records 'best of' CD.
