Dewitt Bodeen (July 25, 1908 - March 12, 1988) was a film screenwriter who today is probably best remebered for writing 1942's Cat People. Bodeen began his career as an actor and playwright before entering the film business. In the late 1930s, he began working for RKO and worked his way up to a script writer. Other films include The Curse of the Cat People (1944), The Seventh Victim (1943) and Billy Budd (1962) Screenwriters, scenarists or script writers, are authors who write the screenplays from which movies are made. ... This article is about the 1942 film; Cat People is also the name of a 1982 film. ... The Curse of the Cat People is a 1944 film directed by Gunther von Fritsch and Robert Wise and produced by Cat People producer Val Lewton. ... It is the mission of this article to try once again to set the record straight, and to re-establish Miss Minter's reputation as a beautiful, delightful, and talented actress, who was a victim of misinformation propagated by cynical writers, journalists, and film historians over the years.
In DeWitt Bodeen's interviews with Mary, she relayed a story about one of the Saturday night dances frequented by stars in the late 1910s.
