Deal$ is a very popular midwest and southeast United Sates A 99 cent store A dollar store is a store that sells inexpensive items for one dollar each. A very popular concept throughout the world, the stores usually sell everything from cleaning supplies to childrens toys. Many products sold in such stores are not in brand name. Often the... dollar store. They were acquired by Save-A-Lot is the 13th largest retail chain and 5th largest chain under a single banner with 1000 stores in the US and 4 Billion in sales. They are Headquarted in Earth City, Missouri. They are a wholly owned subsidiary of SuperValu. Save-A-Lot was founded in 1977... Save-A-Lot in 2002. Deal$ stores are unique for two reasons;

  • Besides offering closed-out manufactured irregulars and discontinued products, Deal$ also has its own line of cheap Deal$ branded small electronic goods, consumables, and tools. They also offer Save-A-Lot "exclusive label" branded foods and day-old bread from Save-A-Lot stores.
  • Many Deal$ stores are physically located inside of Save-A-Lot stores in a format known as the Hybrid Store.

Although there are over 100 Deal$ stores across many US States, most of them are located in Missouri, mostly in and around The Gateway Arch, shown here behind the Old Courthouse, is the most recognizable part of the St. Louis skyline. Deal Barracks has become known over its long history as the Royal Marine School of Music, the barracks at Walmer consisting of the North, East and South (or Cavalry) barracks, and all were constructed shortly after the outbreak of the French revolution.
On the evening of March 26, 1996, the Deal populous were privy to a special ceremony, the 'beating of the retreat', coming from the South barracks, as the Marines were commanded to vacate their ancient Kent depot and move to new quarters at Portsmouth.
