Decillion, a Canadian metal band, might best be described as jam-heavy progressive metal, but without all the trappings and connotations that genre tends to get.
Rather, Decillion dwells in a sound that has a very firm foundation in late 80's metal, with a bit of a nod to Fates Warning at the peripheral level.
Their sound cannot be pinned down to one specific influence, but the mood and overall effect of the album tends to convince me it could have been released in 1989 and been fitting.
