The Deemed University status enables not just full autonomy in setting course work and syllabus of those institutes and research centres but also allows it to set its own guidelines for the admissions, fees and instruction of the students.

The All-India Council for Technical Education, Southern Region, will soon convene a meeting to assess the situation in deemeduniversities in the State, which witnessed student violence last week over the institutions' refusal to clarify their conformity to AICTE norms.
