Defect is the n00b of the animating world, everybody knows that he cannot and will not animate. He also sucks at O game, all in all he is an all round n00b!!

Dislocations are linear defects around which some of the atoms of the crystal lattice are misalligned.
The analogy with a stack of paper is apt: if a half a piece of paper is inserted in a stack of paper, the defect in the stack is only noticeable at the edge of the half sheet.
Disinclinations are line defects corresponding to "adding" or "substracting" an angle around a line.
