Af2 - Facts, Information, and Encyclopedia Reference article (509 words)
The af2 is fielding twenty teams in 2005, down from twenty-five in 2004.
This is possibly due to the fact that the league grew too quickly (the league saw thirteen new teams in 2001, and ten in 2002), since historically, massive expansions have little success (the NIFL, a rival indoor league, has seen large amounts of expansion teams since they began in 2001 but many struggle financially).
Four new expansion teams have been approved for 2006 in the af2: the Mississippi Headhunters of Biloxi, Mississippi, the Stockton, Thunder (California), the Everett Hawks, and the Spokane Shock (both of Washington state).
Mid Continental Football League - Teams (1476 words)
The team seemed headed towards prosperity, however the retirement of several key players combined with the increased talent level of the improving MCFL led to several disappointing seasons.
The other team highlight for this year's Mustangs was the fact that they were the only team to defeat the league champion Detroit Seminoles in 2003.
The Mustangs are definitely a highly competitive team in the MCFL, and with a couple of key additions to the roster and a little luck, the Mustangs are hoping to be competing for the league championship in 2006.
