Deidre Downs (July 7, 1980), Miss America 2005, is an aspiring doctor from Birmingham, Alabama. As part of her year of service, she will advocate her platform of Preventing Childhood Cancer. Deidre first realized her passion for working with children when she visited Camp Smile-a-Mile, a camp for children with cancer.
