They were once KND operatives from Sector Z but are now the primary enemy of Sector V, having come under the influence of Father. They are a parody on the children from John Wyndham's 1957 novel The Midwich Cuckoos. Revealed in the movie "Operation: Z.E.R.O," they are Nigel's cousins by adoption, though this is unspoken. Origins
The origins of the DCFDTL were left a mystery during the first 2 seasons of KND. Their relationship to Father was also left unexplained, leaving it open to speculation as to whether they were, or weren't, related to him by blood. Early in a Season 3 episode, it was hinted that they may have once been ordinary children who were forced to become villains, when, in "Operation: A.R.C.H.I.V.E." it was revealed that a group of children were kidnapped by Father, who warped them into "the perfect children" using his "Delightfulization Chamber". However, no further details were given about the kidnapped children or the time frame of the incident, and they were not specifically named as being the current DCFDTL. Season 4 episode "Operation P.O.O.L." introduced the LTDFCD, a good version of the DCFDTL from a mirror universe who were fighting against the DNK, a bad version of the KND. The LTDFCD had originally been bad but split from the DNK and became good, leading fans to speculate that, as their mirror opposites, the DCFDTL must have once been members of KND who split from them and became bad. This article is in need of attention. ...
The missing KND operatives from Sector Z This presumption was later born out in the feature length movie "Operation: Z.E.R.O.", in which it is revealed that the DCFDTL are the missing KND operatives from the Sector Z, who were abducted and Delightfulized some time prior to the start of Season 1. According to Father, his Delightfulization Chamber was not originally able to affect children so dramatically (earlier depictions of the Delightfulization process showed it turning children into mindless slaves) but it blew a fuse, resulting in an "eleventy billionfold" increase in power that destroyed the machine but also made the children what they are today. The KND recommissioning module briefly restores the DCFDTL to their former selves in "Operation: Z.E.R.O." but they revert close to the end. They were then stuffed into a pod by Numbuh One and ejected into space.
Names As of the end of Season 6, only two of the DCFDTL have been individually named on screen. - Lenny, the boy with football helmet (Operation U.N.D.E.R.C.O.V.E.R.)
- David, the tall boy with brown hair (Operation Z.E.R.O.)
Their surnames remain unknown.
Personality The DCFDTL are near emotionless and always speak in unison unless they are nervous or scared. They're rarely seen apart and always stand in one specific formation. The only episode in which they have been shown separately was "Operation: U.N.D.E.R.C.O.V.E.R." in which Lenny attempts to infiltrate the KND. Although they are usually depicted as being totally obedient to Father, they retain their own free will and have, on occasion, disobeyed him. Notable instances include during "Operation I.T." when their dislike of broccoli drove them to giving Numbuh One and 362 the KND code module; allowing them to track down and defeat Father, and "Operation: P.A.R.T.Y." in which they held a party in Father's mansion despite being instructed not to do so.
Trivia - The DCFDTL are the most recurring villains of the show with 33 appearances.
- The DCFDTL are responsible for making Numbuh One bald. (Operation F.O.U.N.T.A.I.N.)
- They are in the fourth grade at Gallagher Elementary School. Their homeroom teacher is Ms. Thompson
- According to their profile, on the Cartoon Network website, they are English. [1]. They also have parents other than Father, though they are never referenced in the show.
- Every Season features an episode based around Sector V's attempts to steal the DCFDTL's birthday cake. These episode are all titled "Operation C.A.K.E.D." followed by the season number. The exceptions to this are Season 6's episode, which was titled "Operation S.I.X." and Season 1's episode titled "Operation C.A.K.E.D.". It should be noted that the first five birthdays took place in a single year, as each represents only one of the DCFDTLs' birthdays, thus accounting for what would otherwise be a large continuity error (by making the KND operatives much older).
- Although they are children, it is unknown as to how old the DCFDTL actually are, as Monty Uno seems to have full knowledge of Sector Z, indicating they may have been in service at around the same time Monty when he was Numbuh Zero. Given that Monty is the elder of the two brothers, he was likely decommissioned at some point, and lost all information about the KND, which means that he did know Sector Z prior to his loss of memory. The Delightfulization process appears to retard the aging process, meaning that the DCFDTL might be chronologically as old as Monty and Father, but stuck in childhood because of the effects of the device used on them. When the recommissioning module was used on them, they reverted to their childhood forms as Sector Z, rather than the adults they should have grown up into.
