The Delmarva Shorebirds are a class A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles. The Shorebirds play in the South Atlantic League and are based in Salisbury, Maryland, which is in Wicomico County. The Shorebirds play their games at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium. The team mascot is Sherman the Shorebird. For many years, the franchise was known as the Albany Polecats, before moving to Salisbury in 1996. The team is currently owned by the Comcast cable network.
