Warning: Todd has gone crazy in his Test Cell 1, thus an Alert has been posted to find the Radioactive , Spartan Lover, Buddy Walking Freak of Nature. It is believed he enters Todd's Test Cell 1 occasionally, if spotted please don't mention UM or the Freak will emitt his evil radiation.
The term delta ray has these meanings:-
In the real world, delta ray is a term that can been used for very fast electrons produced in quantity by alpha particles or other fast energetic charged particles knocking orbiting electrons out of atoms. Collectively these electrons are defined as delta radiation when they have sufficient energy to ionize further atoms through subsequent interations on their own. Delta rays appear as branches in the main track of a cloud chamber. These branches will appear more favourably from near the start of the track of a heavy charged particle, where more energy is imparted to the ionized electrons.
In science fiction, the term delta ray has sometimes been used for an undefined fictional type of ray or radiation, sometimes come across as a hazard, sometimes used in energy weapons.
Properties The electron (also called negatron, commonly represented as e−) is a subatomic particle. ... An alpha particle is deflected by a magnetic field Alpha particles or alpha rays are a form of particle radiation which are highly ionizing and have low penetration. ... Properties For alternative meanings see atom (disambiguation). ... The cloud chamber, also known as the Wilson chamber, is used for detecting particles of ionizing radiation. ... Science fiction is a form of speculative fiction principally dealing with the impact of imagined science and technology, or both, upon society and persons as individuals. ... Hazard is a term used in evaluating safety: A hazard is a potential unwanted event. ... Many types of real and fictional weapon which emit energy, rather than a physical projectile, fire it in one direction, and so can be classed as guns: see Directed-energy weapon for a full description of them. ...
The shape and internal structure of a delta depend on the nature and interaction of two forces: the sediment-carrying stream from a river, tidal inlet, or submarine canyon, and the current and wave action of the water body in which the delta is building.
In marine deltas the fluviatile influence decreases and the marine influence increases from the topset to the bottomset beds.
The Mississippi delta consists almost entirely of framework and matrix; its rapid seaward growth is the result of deposition of river-mouth bars and extension of levees, and the areas in between are filled later with matrix.
Deltarays appear as branches in the main track of a cloud chamber.
Otherwise called a knock-on electron, the word DeltaRay is also used in high energy physics to describe single electrons in particle accelerators that are exhibiting characteristic deceleration.
In science fiction, a "deltaray" is often used to describe an undefined, fictional type of ray or radiation, sometimes as a hazard, sometimes used in energy weapons.
