Delvians are a sentient and mobile plant species with a humanoid form. Outwardly they have bluish white hair (or none at all), and a bluish color to their skin. Delvians are a long-lived race, with 800 cycles being the equivalent to mid-life.
Most Delvians follow what is known as Delvian Seek, a spiritual discipline with many metaphysical and spiritual rewards. Upon reaching a certain level of knowledge they are known as a Pa'u. upon reaching full Pa'u statis, delvians acquire certian psychometric abilities with every new level attained, for example, level 9 ability to search someones mind for troubles,it is not givin a proper term, but Zhaan said that she "scanned his mind", and the level ten ability to protect, such as protecting someones mind for anothers mental torture.
Delvians have powerful experiences when around solar flares, or strong solar energy, this is fitting because they are a plant race. In Zhaan's case, the experiences are sexually, and she refers to them as "photogasms".
Delvians have relatively long life-spans; Zhaan had lived 812 cycles by the time she escaped her Peacekeeper captivity, and she did not consider herself an old woman.
The only real taboo I have heard of among Delvians relates to their "dark side." These intelligent, peace-loving beings are capable of committing horrific violence, and each one must wrestle for control over his or her darkest impulses.
Zhaan was imprisoned for her violent resistance to that movement, and a renegade Delvian sect we encountered claimed they had been exiled from their homeworld for practicing the Seek.
