Dimitris Christodoulou, a Greek American mathematical physicist, was born 19-10-1951 in Athens, Greece.

Christodoulou is the recipient of numerous awards and honors, including Guggenheim and MacArthur fellowships, the Otto Hahn Medal for his work in mathematical physics, the Basilis Xanthopoulos Award for his research on general relativity.
