There are some "driven forces" which to establish this political party. Firstly, the young generation realize that there will be no democratic change taking place soon if the country falls into the leadership of the old generation, who have been continuously maintaining past political revange. The political revange will not guarantee internal peace and reconciliation in the short term. Secondly, the need for balancing power both in the government and in parliament through having the young generation's contribution, in all decision making process. Thirdly, there is great concern about gender disparities and environmental issues which need great attention. Fourthly, the need to recognize the effort made by all activists who had contributed to the Timorese struggle during the period of occupation. Lastly, the need to fight against corruption, collusion and nepotism in government bureaucracy.
