History

  • 1984 - DRU goes online
  • 1986 - An AE was added to the BBS. It was called "The Polka AE." This name is a parody of the "Metal AE," which was a popular AE at the time. Entering the word "KILL" at the GBBS entry prompt launched "The Polka AE" (rather than DRU); "KILL" was also the entry for "the Metal AE."
  • 1993 - A fake-version of the BBS was added. It was called "Demon Roach Underground Elite." At the main BBS entry prompt, one entered "SMASH." This version of the BBS did not require a new user password. An interesting feature was that the user list showed the passwords for all users, including the sysop. Thus, any user could log in as any other user. Messages were often posted and e-mails were often sent under other users' names.
  • 1999 - DRU ends its run as a public BBS
  • 2002 - DRU is reborn as an exclusive, invitation-only system

Demon Knight - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (1589 words)
Demon Knight (also known as Tales from the Crypt Presents: Demon Knight) is a 1995 horror film directed by Ernest R. Dickerson, and stars Billy Zane, William Sadler, and Jada Pinkett Smith.
Demon Knight is a spin-off from the popular HBO series Tales from the Crypt, and features scenes with the Crypt Keeper (once again voiced by John Kassir) at the beginning and end of the movie.
Roach ends up destroying a blood barrier after shooting a demon, and everyone makes a run for the upstairs, where the demons are unable to get to them (earlier, a blood barrier was accidentally created at the top of the stairs).
Trance Spirits (by Darren Bergstein) (1171 words)
From the early '80s, Roach has consistently eked out a definitive niche in the electronic music community, sidestepping misinformed pigeonholers desperate to brandish his music 'new age,' breaking free of the Teutonic chains of yesteryear and creating a formidable catalogue of sonic art lesser talents can only pray to aspire to.
Roach's knack for creating intense, deeply involved soundworlds has arisen both from his mooring to time-blasted lands and the reinterpretations of his earthly muse in a live setting.
Just the idea of Roach mixing it up with the likes of Robert Fripp should be enough to send the cognoscente off salivating, but TRANCE SPIRITS isn't exactly the penultimate meeting between big chief electric and crimson king.
