From this direction, Den Helder can only be reached by coach from the cities of Leeuwarden (interliner to Alkmaar) and Harlingen, but you have to change busses once (from Leeuwarden at DenOever) or twice (from Harlingen at Zurich and at DenOever).

Leave the highway near the village of DenOever and travel west along the N99 and the N9 to the city of Den Helder.
