Deng Zhi (鄧芝) was a certain minister serving under Liu Bei . After the death of Liu Bei, he was the one who was tasked to send an envoy to Wu to seal an alliance with them, which ended in success, which included the release of Zhang Yi . Deng Zhi afterwards led a vanguard during the Northern Campaign with Zhao Yun .
