Denis Hickie, whose international career has stalled more often than a Robin Reliant, will be aiming to make up for lost time when he runs out for his 19th cap against France on Saturday.
Hickie's Ireland career was de-railed by a broken jaw, sustained against the Springboks on an unhappy tour in 1998, and he spent almost two years in the wilderness, which gave him plenty of time for reflection.
