Deosai is the treeless highest Plateau on earth, it is located in Baltistan north of city Skardu. Its hieght is from 14000 feet to 16500 feet above sea level, It covers an area over almost 3,000 square kilometers. In the months from June to September when the snow clears up, Deosai is accessible from Skardu in the north. Deosai Polo Ground is near to Sheosar Lake which is the hieghest Polo ground on earth, Shandur pass polo ground is the second hieghest polo ground. The journey from Skardu to Deosai is only possible on 4-wheel drive vehicles that can be rented in Skardu city; driving time is about 2 and a half hours. On the climb from Skardu to Deosai, the jeep track crosses the Deosai National Park checkpost at an altitude of 12,000 feet.
