Departamento Administrativo de Seguridad (DAS) is the Security Service of Colombia. DAS in addition has the purposes of immigration control encluding issuing visas. Article 38 of Decree 218 from 2000 states that all employees of DAS have the function of intelligence agents. DAS works with the DEA, an american agency against drugs. DAS currently is working against drug industry-related guerillas in Colombia. The avenue is formed from the union of three old avenues, Avenida Ciudad de Quito, Avenida Novena, and Autopista Sur.
Avenida Ciudad de Quito, also called Carrera 30, runs north to south between Calle 92 and Calle 50 South; the southerly part is not considered part of NQS.
Autopista Sur, which parts from Avenida Ciudad de Quito at Calle 3a Sur, constituting the principal route leaving Bogotá by the southwest.
