Secretary for Justice Elsie Leung has come under sharp fire in a variety of recent controversies, including her decision to refrain from prosecuting a prominent publisher in a circulation fraud case in which the publisher was named as a co-conspirator.
The Hong Kong government was not pleased with part of the wording and asked for a clarification from the court, but Leung soon was attacked when it emerged she had approached Andrew Li, chief justice of the Court of Final Appeal, to alert him that the government's request was coming.
