The attorneygeneral is assisted by a chief deputy, who is responsible for coordinating and supervising the work of the office, including review of substantive work, general management of the office, and participating in policy formation.
The attorneygeneral is also assisted by the solicitor general who is responsible for review of opinions before submission to the attorneygeneral and supervision and coordination of the appellate work of the office.
The DeputyAttorneyGeneral advises and assists the AttorneyGeneral in formulating and implementing Departmental policies and programs and in providing overall supervision and direction to all organizational units of the Department.
The DeputyAttorneyGeneral is authorized to exercise all the power and authority of the AttorneyGeneral, except where such power or authority is prohibited by law from delegation or has been delegated to another official.
In the absence of the AttorneyGeneral, the DeputyAttorneyGeneral acts as the AttorneyGeneral.
