Details, a monthly men's magazine, is published by Condé Nast Publications. The title has survived since the early/mid80s under various editors and publishers. In early 2000 CondeNast ceased publication of the troubled title and sold it to sister-company Fairchild Publications. Details relaunched in October 2000, repositioned as an upscale and irreverent fashion magazine for affluent men who's average age was 27-33. Total newsstand and subscription circulation was reigned in to around 500,000. In the five years since its relaunch, Details has received recognition throughout media circles (including several ASME and Society of Publication Design awards). Between its last issue at Condé Nast and first at Fairchild, circulation of Details was temporarily suspended.
This allowed for extensive redesign and strategic repositioning of the magazine as an upscale and irreverent fashion magazine for affluent men in their late 20s and 30s.
