(2.) Another name of Jethro, "The priest of Midian," father-in-law of Moses (Ex. 2:18). This may be regarded as his proper name, and Jether or Jethro (i.e., "excellency") as his official title.
(3.) A Gadite (Num. 2:14), called also Deuel. (1:14; 7:42)
Deuel (APA-160) was launched 9 September 1944 by Oregon Shipbuilding Corp., Portland, Oreg., under a Maritime Commission contract; sponsored by Mrs.
Recommissioned 23 October 1950 Deuel operated from her base at Norfolk on exercises on the east coast and in the Caribbean.
Between 5 August and 23 October 1953 Deuel voyaged by way of the Panama Canal to bring Marines to Yokohama, Japan, and in 1952 and 1955 she delivered naval construction Batallion men and equipment to Casablanca, French Morocco.
Deuel purified and sequenced the human placental cDNA clone, which was found to consist of a sequence of 961 nucleotide base pairs.
Deuel's application does not describe the chemical structure of, or state how to isolate and purify, any DNA or cDNA molecule except the disclosed human placental and bovine uterine cDNAs, which are the subject of claims 5 and 7.
Deuel argues that the PTO failed to follow the proper legal standard in determining that the claimed cDNA molecules would have been prima facie obvious despite the lack of structurally similar compounds in the prior art.
