Dick Duckworth, a Bacup-born utility player began his career with Castleton Junuiors, subsequently moving on to Carlisle United, Rochdale, Oldham Athletic, Chesterfield, Southport, Chester, Rotherham United and York City.
Duckworth began his managerial career with non-league Newark Town, moving to manage York City in March 1950.
