Bartemius Crouch Jr's story and fate	Under the influence of Veritaserum, Bartemius Crouch Jr, who was thought to have died in Azkaban Prison, explains how he escaped. Using Polyjuice Potion, he switched places with his terminally ill mother Mrs Crouch. Once Crouch Jr returned home he eventually put his father Bartemius Crouch Sr under the Imperius Curse and went to join with Lord Voldemort. He captured the real Alastor Moody, disguised himself as Moody, taught Defence Against the Dark Arts at Hogwarts, killed his own father and guided Harry to Voldemort by aiding him in the Triwizard Tournament. After this is revealed, Cornelius Fudge goes to see Crouch and brings a Dementor who performs a Dementor's kiss on Crouch. This angers Dumbledore, who claims that Crouch's evidence would have been vital in the wizarding world.	No explanation is given for his escape from Azkaban. The last time Crouch is seen, he is being guarded by Severus Snape.
Bartemius Crouch Sr's fate	Harry and Viktor Krum are walking through the Hogwarts grounds when they find an alive but very much distressed Bartemius Crouch Sr at the edge of the forest, which is surprising since he has been supposed to be sick and has been absent from the Triwizard Tournament happenings for some time. He is under his son’s Imperius Curse, but is starting to fight back. He rotates from thinking his wife and son are alive, to thinking that he is talking to Percy Weasley (calling him Weatherby), to saying that he needs to see Dumbledore and that Bertha Jorkins is dead and it is his fault. Harry runs to get Dumbledore. Stopped only by Snape on the way, Harry returns quickly with Dumbledore only to find a Stunned Krum and no Crouch. Crouch Jr. later confesses under Veritaserum that he killed his father and buried the body in Hagrid's garden.	Harry, Ron, Hermione and Hagrid are walking through the forest, singing the school song. Harry finds Barty Crouch Sr's distinct hat, and then Crouch himself, dead, behind a tree. It is not later stated how Crouch Sr dies, but the audience is left with strong clues (including both Jr and Sr's mutual hate, Jr's tongue-flicking, and Sr's frightened look at Moody whom he must realise to be his son in disguise) to infer so. Cedric Diggory’s Parents	Unlike his son, who is quite modest, Amos Diggory likes to boast about his son's accomplishments and give Harry a hard time. During Harry’s first encounter with him, Amos rudely remarks how Cedric beat Harry at Quidditch in their previous year. He was unaware that Harry had been suffering from the effects of Dementors. Then, before the third task, Amos says, "Bet you’re not feeling quite as full of yourself now Cedric’s caught you up on points, are you?" Cedric tells Harry to ignore him, citing that he's been angry since Rita Skeeter left him out of her Triwizard Tournament article. Later, after Harry brings Cedric’s body back to his parents, as per Cedric's request, they hear the story firsthand from Harry of how their son had died. “Mr Diggory sobbed through most of the interview. Mrs. Diggory’s grief seemed to be beyond tears.” Harry attempts to give his Triwizard winnings to Mrs. Diggory, but she tells Harry she can’t take it, and makes him keep it. It is later given to Fred and George Weasley.	Cedric’s mother does not appear in the movie, nor does any storyline about the Triwizard winnings. However, Amos does appear in the film, although he is never rude to Harry and some of the other characters, and actually seems quite amicable. This is perhaps so that the audience is a touch more sympathetic to the character after the loss of his son at the end, where all the spectators of the third task take in the news silently as Amos cries loudly in front of them.
The Dark Mark	Harry, Ron and Hermione run through the woods at the Quidditch World Cup campsite. They hear Barty Crouch Jr’s voice conjure the Dark Mark, but do not see him, and do not know who he is; thus they do not recognise his voice. Ministry officials – including Barty Crouch Sr and Arthur Weasley – appear, and Crouch accuses them of conjuring the Dark Mark. The trio explain they heard someone else perform the spell, and Winky the House-Elf, who serves the Crouch household, is caught holding Harry's wand, which had been used to fire the Dark Mark. Although the trio claims that they heard a deep voice, and Winky’s is high-pitched, Crouch Sr dismisses Winky on the spot.	Harry is separated from Ron and Hermione during the pandemonium. As he tries to get away from the scene on his own, he trips, and somebody, trying to get away as well, inadvertently kicks him in the head. He is knocked unconscious for some amount of time. When he wakes up, the fire is extinguished, and the grounds are empty except for one man (Barty Crouch Jr, but Harry doesn’t know it) who conjures the Dark Mark. Crouch Jr sees Harry and begins to approach Harry. However, Crouch Jr hears Ron and Hermione looking for Harry and retreats away. Ron and Hermione find Harry immediately afterward, and ask him where he had gone, but Ministry officials – including Barty Crouch Sr, and Arthur Weasley – appear. Crouch Sr accuses the trio of conjuring the Dark Mark, but Arthur immediately puts down that idea, citing that one of the children is his own son. Harry tells the officials he saw a man, and they go to try and find him.
Dumbledore's thoughts on Harry entering the Triwizard Tournament	After Harry’s name comes out of the Goblet of Fire and the four champions and school officials gather in the Trophy Room, Dumbledore asks Harry quite calmly if he entered the tournament, or had an older student put his name in the Goblet. Harry says he didn’t and Dumbledore is satisfied with this. The Dursleys	Harry starts off at the Dursleys’ home, Number 4 Privet Drive. The Weasleys use floo powder and arrive in the Dursleys’ fireplace. Dudley is fed Ton-Tongue Toffee by Fred and George, making his tongue swell up. The Weasleys prepare to take Harry back to the Burrow with them, and when the Dursleys do not say good-bye, Arthur is shocked.	Due to the omission of the Dursleys, none of this happened, and Harry starts the film already at the Burrow. Omission of the Dursleys helps to concentrate the film on its main plot lines, and also distinguish it from the other films which have all begun on Privet Drive.
End	The book ends on the Hogwarts Express with a bit of a "wrap-up;" Hermione explains how she caught Rita Skeeter. Harry, Ron, Hermione, Fred, George and Ginny attack Draco Malfoy, Crabbe and Goyle, and Harry gives Fred and George his prize money from the Triwizard Tournament, encouraging them to start their joke shop.	The film ends after Dumbledore's eulogy for Cedric Diggory, with students from all three schools hugging, Harry, Ron and Hermione talking about "things never being the same" as well as the approaching summer, and the Beauxbatons carriage and the Durmstrang ship leaving the Hogwarts campus.
Filch's role	Filch is mentioned during Great Hall chapters but his most notable part is when Harry is walking back to the Common Room after being in the Prefects Bathroom and drops his Golden Egg; Filch finds it and thinks that Peeves has stolen it, thus meaning he could get the Poltergeist thrown out of Hogwarts. However, Mad-Eye Moody and Severus Snape appear who both have a row about whether Potter is there or not and the Golden Egg is taken off him by Moody and returned to Harry.	Filch is the butt of several gags in the film. The first is during Dumbledore's traditional opening speech, where he enters, half-running, half-jumping, through the great oak front doors. He whispers a few words to Dumbledore, interrupting him, and then exits in the same fashion. Another is a running joke throughout the movie. At the start of each task, Dumbledore tells the contestants that they may begin at the sound of the cannon, but before he can finish speaking these words, Filch accidentally fires the cannon too early. He is seen at the Yule Ball dancing with his cat, Mrs Norris.
The First Task	Harry enters the dragon arena and begins to battle with the Hungarian Horntail. He summons his Firebolt and begins to fly around the arena. Despite a graze on his arm and the fact that the bottom of his broomstick catches on fire, Harry manages to quickly retrieve the Golden Egg from the dragon’s protection. He gets high marks for his simple-yet-clever solution and quick completion of the task.	Harry enters the dragon arena and begins to battle with the Hungarian Horntail. He eventually summons his Firebolt and begins to fly around the arena. Suddenly, the Horntail breaks free from her chain and chases after Harry. The two fly out of the arena and out of sight of the spectators, as they fly around Hogwarts. Harry loses sight of the dragon himself for a moment, and then nearly collides with it, causing him to fall off his broom and hold onto a protrusion in one of the towers for dear life. He manages to climb up to where his broom landed, and he jumps back onto it. In a few minutes he flies back to the arena, the Horntail in hot pursuit, and grabs the Golden Egg. Despite the lengthy pursuit and severe damage Harry causes to Hogwarts, Harry receives high marks.
Fleur Delacour's heritage	Fleur is stated to be part-Veela.	This is not explicitly stated in the movie, although was mentioned in promotional material. In the film adaptation, all the Beauxbatons girls are presented as very alluring, although not supernaturally so. However, Moody tells Harry that Fleur is "about as much a fairy princess as I am"; as Veela are in some folk-tales related to elves (although never suggested as being so in canon), this may be a reference to her being part Veela.

While waiting for the Death Eaters to arrive, Voldemort starts “reminiscing” (as he realises he is growing “quite sentimental” later), and mentions that his father was a Muggle who abandoned his mother before he himself was born. Voldemort confirms that he murdered his father. Approximately 30 Death Eaters then Apparate into the graveyard, but only 8 or so are mentioned by name.	Harry is trapped by the scythe of an enchanted Grim Reaper statue. Only half a dozen or so Death Eaters appear in the graveyard. In their presence, Voldemort talks to Harry, and doesn’t discuss his parents at all. Crabbe, Walden Macnair, Goyle, and Lucius Malfoy are mentioned by name. Malfoy actually shows his face to make his identity clearer to the audience.
Harry’s Preparation for the Tasks	Harry prepares for the first task by practising summoning charms with Hermione, after Barty Crouch Jr., disguised as Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher Alastor Moody suggests that Harry summon his Firebolt and try to fly around the dragon. To prepare for the second task, Cedric gives Harry the clue to listen to the egg underwater in the Prefect’s Bathroom right after the Yule Ball (as readers later find out, that method the impostor Moody had suggested to Cedric, in the hopes he would tell Harry). Harry hesitates to take such a suspicious hint until a few days before the task, when he is desperate. Still, when he realises he needs to stay underwater for an hour, he doesn’t know what to do. Dobby steals some Gillyweed from Snape’s private stores, when he overhears a conversation between Professors Moody and McGonagall that Harry doesn't know what to use to aid him in the Task. In preparation for the third task, Harry, Ron and Hermione look for all sorts of spells that could protect Harry from any creatures he might come across in the maze.	Harry prepares for the first task only by knowing his game plan: that he will summon his Firebolt to capture the Golden Egg. To prepare for the second task, Cedric gives Harry the hint two days before the task. Still, when he realises he needs to stay underwater for an hour, he doesn’t know what to do. Due to the omission of the House-Elves, and thus Dobby, Neville, who is adept at Herbology and given assistance by Moody, gives Harry Gillyweed when Harry is frantic before the start of the Second Task. This is somewhat taken from the book, as using Neville to help Harry learn about the Gillyweed was an original plan of Barty Crouch Jr's. Harry does nothing to prepare for the third task, because it is not revealed that it is a maze (or anything else) beforehand.
Igor Karkaroff and his Death Eater status	Is revealed to be a Death Eater, is shown to be very worried and discusses his fears about the Dark Mark growing clearer with Snape, and later flees from Hogwarts once he knows that Voldemort has returned.	Not much of Karkaroff is seen in the film and he is only seen once after his scene while on trial in the Pensieve. There is no mention of him fleeing after Voldemort's return, and it is suddenly established that he is a Death Eater during the trial scene, although there is a previous mysterious scene where he is discreetly discussing something (presumably his Dark Mark) with Snape. One of the scenes cut from the movie but included with the DVD shows him discussing his strengthening Dark Mark with Snape after the Yule Ball.
The Imperius Curse	In a Defence Against the Dark Arts class, Moody performs the Imperius Curse upon several students in the class, including Harry. Harry is the best at resisting it. Later, when Lord Voldemort uses it upon Harry in the graveyard scene, Harry resists it, to the surprise of Voldemort.	Moody does not put the Imperius Curse upon anybody in his class, so when Harry is the victim of it by Lord Voldemort in the graveyard scene, he cannot put it off.
Madame Maxime's heritage	Madame Maxime is said to be half-giantess, just like Hagrid, who is half-giant.	This is not revealed, but Madame Maxime is shown taller than Hagrid. Some of her conversation with Hagrid is shown, but only partially. Her romance with Hagrid is used as part of the general romantic theme of the film.
Moaning Myrtle's role	She helps Harry underwater during the Second Task, guiding him to the place where the captives are and where the merpeople live. She sees Harry taking a bath in the prefects' bathroom as well, and flirts with him but not so aggressively.	Harry only sees Moaning Myrtle while taking a bath in the prefects' bathroom. Murder of Lord Voldemort's Grandparents and Father	Discussed in the beginning of the book. Frank Bryce, gardener at the Riddle house, is the prime suspect in the murder of Lord Voldemort's paternal grandparents and father, all Muggles. However, the murderer was actually Voldemort himself, and because he used the Avada Kedavra curse on them, it left no mark, and no sign of the cause of their death except for the fact that they were not breathing and they were immobile. Because there was no evidence that they hadn't died of natural causes and nothing to point to Bryce, he was let off.	Discussed briefly at the end of the film, when Harry encounters Voldemort in the graveyard. Voldemort mentions the bones of his father, one of which is necessary to resurrect Voldemort to human form. Also, a gravestone bears the birth and death dates of Voldemort's father and grandparents. This is not expanded on, nor is any connection made to Frank Bryce, though he is included in the movie.
Neville's Parents' fate	During one of the three trial scenes in the Pensieve, Bellatrix Lestrange and Barty Crouch Jr are part of the group of Death Eaters that are accused of torturing Frank and Alice Longbottom into insanity. After Dumbledore removes Harry from the basin, Harry asks if the people being discussed were Neville's parents, and Dumbledore confirms it, but tells Harry to keep it a secret. Dumbledore says Neville will tell people when he's ready.	Frank and Alice's names are mentioned, but the fact that they are Neville's parents and have been tortured to insanity has not been made clear. Bellatrix Lestrange's character has been completely omitted, and Harry isn't told to keep this upsetting information secret.
Parvati and Padma Patil	They are identical twins, in Gryffindor and Ravenclaw respectively.	They are fraternal twins. Although both appear in the Gryffindor common room at one point, it is not clear whether Padma was sorted there for purposes of the film or if she was merely a guest of Parvati, though she does wear a Gryffindor necktie during several scenes.
Pensieve Scenes	There are three trials Harry visits in Dumbledore's Pensieve: those of Ludo Bagman and Igor Karkaroff, and the combined trial of Bartemius Crouch Jr, Bellatrix Lestrange, Rabastan Lestrange, and Rodolphus Lestrange. Bartemius Crouch Jr pleads with both his father and mother to reverse the sentence, and is scared to go to Azkaban Prison.	The character of Ludo Bagman is cut; thus his trial is logically excluded. The other two trials are merged into one. Bartemius Crouch Jr's actions and emotions during the scene make it obvious that he is guilty. He shows no remorse.
Polyjuice Potion	Is mentioned but once in Harry's thoughts, when Snape does all but accuse Harry of stealing Boomslang Skin, an ingredient in Polyjuice Potion that, at Hogwarts, can only be found in Snape's office. Not mentioned again until Bartemius Crouch Jr is revealed to have been using it all year to disguise himself as Alastor Moody.	Is mentioned by both Moaning Myrtle, who claims she saw some in the pipes, and Severus Snape, who threatened to force-feed Harry Veritaserum to see if it had been he who was stealing the necessary ingredients. When Dumbledore learns in the end that Bartemius Crouch Jr had been stealing these ingredients, he remarks on it to Snape.
A Portkey's effects	Are described as being pulled by having a hook attached to one's navel. When one arrives at the destination they feel "unhooked".	When the party travels to the Quidditch World Cup, it appears that they travel at rapid speed across a great deal of land, and when they are nearly at their destination, they let go and are dropped there (quite violently, for those inexperienced with this method of travel).
The Priori Incantatem Explanation	Dumbledore explains to Harry (and very confused readers) why Harry's and Lord Voldemort's wands "united", in a sense, to reveal, in this order, smoky wisps resembling each of Cedric Diggory, Frank Bryce, Bertha Jorkins, Lily Potter, and James Potter. In brief, this is because both wands' cores contain a phoenix feather from the same phoenix, who happens to be Dumbledore's pet Fawkes.	No explanation ensues, which leaves the audience a bit confused if they are not readers of the book. The only reference to this strange magical happening is when Dumbledore, in a private conversation to Harry, alludes to the fact that he "saw his parents that night."
The Quidditch World Cup match	Ludo Bagman announces the match. Prior to its start, leprechauns, representing the Irish team, and Veela, representing the Bulgarian team roar up the crowd. Harry, Hermione and all the Weasleys present cheer on Ireland. By personal invitation, they sit in Minister of Magic Cornelius Fudge's box. All three of Malfoy family is also present, as is Winky the House-Elf, and Bartemius Crouch Jr, though the latter is hidden under an Invisibility Cloak so it appears his seat is empty. The party watches the match, and Ireland wins.	Cornelius Fudge, Minister of Magic, announces the match. Reaction to Voldemort's Return	At the end of the book, Albus Dumbledore requests Sirius to "round up the old crowd", Snape to "perform a task" (it is revealed later in the series that the task was to respond to Lord Voldemort's call for his Death Eaters), and Madame Maxime and Hagrid to recruit the giants to join the Order. The Order is not referred to by name until its sequel, appropriately called Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Most notably, Dumbledore and Minister of Magic Cornelius Fudge have a row in which Fudge refuses to believe that Voldemort has returned, which is a key plot point in the next book.	During Cedric's memorial Dumbledore tells the students that the Ministry of Magic has prohibited him from telling them that Voldemort killed Cedric; this could hint that there is disbelief in the Ministry. Additionally, after Crouch Sr's death, Harry overhears Fudge and Dumbledore arguing; this indicates that there is indeed a growing conflict between the two even before Voldemort's revival. Also, Moody openly states his disagreement with the Ministry of Magic's notion that fourth-years are "too young to see what (The Unforgivable Curses) do." Also, when Dumbledore argues with McGonagall over whether or not Harry should compete in the Triwizard Tournament, Dumbledore argues that Barty Crouch Sr. stated that "the rules are absolute", to which McGonagall replies, "Since when did you accommodate the Ministry?" Everything else is omitted.
Rita Skeeter's beetle Animagus	Hermione, at the end of the book, discovers that Rita is an unregistered Animagus. Hermione captures her in a jar and only lets her out after making her promise she won't write anything for a year, due to her articles across the year that make Harry out to be first a tragic hero, and then a lunatic of sorts.	This subplot is entirely omitted, though it seems that in an original version of the script this storyline was included. When Madame Maxime and Hagrid discuss their giant heritage, Maxime pulls a bug from Hagrid's hair and eats it; this bears a likeness to when after the second task, Krum removes a beetle from Hermione's hair in the book. (A possible reason it was cut is that this somewhat humorous subplot may have clashed with the more emotional ending.)
The Second Task	Harry follows Moaning Myrtle while underwater, who takes him to the place where the captives are and where the merpeople live. All champions (except Fleur) rescue their captives after the time limit of an hour.	This task most closely resembles the book, in the sense that it is virtually as written, with the exception that Moaning Myrtle does not guide Harry; he follows a merperson. All champions (except Fleur) rescue their captives within the time limit of an hour. There is one dramatization in the film, however, when time runs out and Harry releases Ron and Gabrielle to the surface, Harry is attacked by grindylows and cannot ascend. Just before he is about to drown, Harry whispers, "ascendio" and shoots to the surface.
Scoring in the Triwizard Tournament	For the first and second tasks, scoring was on a scale of one to ten, ten being the most impressive completion of the task, one being the least. Because the points were cumulative, the winner of the third task would thus win the entire Triwizard Tournament. Therefore, the first person (or, as the case was, persons) to touch the Triwizard cup would win. There would be no second or third (or fourth) places.	No definitive scoring system is made clear. It is said that Harry and Cedric are tied for the lead going into the third task, but it is not said how this placement is arrived at.
Sirius Black's role	Harry frequently writes to Sirius, and comes to regard him as a mixture of a father and brother. Sirius gives Harry advice in completing the First Task of the Triwizard Tournament, by appearing in the fire in the Gryffindor common room. He, Ron and Hermione visit Sirius on a Hogsmeade weekend. Sirius appears in the final hospital room scene as well, and he and Snape share a moment where they shake hands bitterly. Dumbledore introduces Sirius as a member of the "good side" to Molly Weasley, who heretofore had considered him an escaped convict.	The only scene featuring Sirius is when his head appears in the coals of the fireplace in the Gryffindor common room. Thus, Harry does not get to know Sirius as he does in the book.
S.P.E.W.	The Society for the Promotion of Elfish Welfare is an association Hermione forms in this book after displaying outrage at the “outrageous abuse of our fellow magical creatures” she believes she’s observed after seeing the “unfair” sacking of Winky and finding out that Hogwarts employs a vast number of house-elves. She forces Harry and Ron into joining, but even Hagrid doesn’t join, because Hermione doesn’t understand what everyone else constantly tells her- house-elves like serving humans, and won’t even consider being set free. Hermione’s efforts are repeatedly mentioned in this book, and also in the fifth book.	Due to the exclusion of house-elves in the movie, there is no mention of S.P.E.W., nor Hermione’s views on their servitude. The omission of side plot serves to concentrate the film on its two themes of romance and adventure.
Students (Hermione and Neville) at the Yule Ball	Hermione wears a periwinkle dress to the Yule Ball and has her hair lank (by using a lot of potion, she says) and tied into a bun. She appears significantly more pretty than she is usually described, much to the surprise of many of her classmates, including the Slytherins Draco Malfoy and Pansy Parkinson. Neville, whom Harry and Ron expect not to get a date, takes Ginny Weasley, who accepts the offer because she otherwise would have been not permitted to attend, because only fourth years and older were allowed to attend.	Hermione wears a pink dress (which, though a small detail, caused some anger among fans) and a complicated hairstyle with lots of curls, and only causes a stir among Ron, Harry and Parvati and Padma Patil when she appears at the ball looking glamorous rather than studious. In an added scene, students have dancing lessons in preparation for the Ball. Neville's role is expanded as he is shown to be the student keenest to dance. The argument between Hermione and Ron at the Yule Ball over her "fraternising with the enemy" is shorter and less intense than it was in the books, and instead of ending with Hermione storming off into the girls dorms after giving Ron the infamous advice that next time he should ask her first to a ball and not as a last resort, leaving Ron speechless, Ron marches off with Harry into the boy's dorms after the advice is given, making the derisive remark that girls "get scarier as they get older", which causes Hermione to throw one last desperate insult at him "Ron you spoiled everything!" The scene then ends with Hermione breaking down crying uncontrollably on the steps.
The Third Task	The four champions are told of the maze and obstacle course one month prior to the actual event, as the tall but unmagical hedges begin to be grown on the Quidditch Field. Later, they are informed that the Triwizard Cup is placed in the center of the maze. When he enters the maze at the start of the Task, Harry notices a suspicious lack of obstacles, because Bartemius Crouch Jr had cleared as many in Harry's path as he thought he could without Harry getting too suspicious. The champions meet, among other beasts, one of Hagrid’s now enormous Blast-Ended Skrewts, a Boggart, an Acromantula, an enchanted mist that apparently makes the world seem to turn upside down when one walks through it, and a Sphinx whose riddle must be answered in order to proceed; this final beast is paralleled to Oedipus. Fleur screams, and Viktor Krum, under the Imperius Curse cast by Crouch Jr (although it is not known until later), uses the Cruciatus Curse on Cedric. Harry Stuns Krum and leaves him lying in the maze, sending up red sparks to mark his location to the faculty patrolling the outside.	The Triwizard Cup is placed at random within the maze by Alastor Moody/Barty Crouch Jr.. No obstacles beside the maze itself appear, but the maze has the unique ability to close in on the champions, such as when it engulfs Fleur. Viktor Krum, visibly under the Imperius Curse cast by Crouch Jr, attempts to use the Killing Curse on Cedric, who dodges it and uses "Expelliarmus" (the disarming spell) to Stun Krum.
Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes	Fred and George begin selling their jokes by mail order. They prank Harry’s cousin Dudley by "accidentally" dropping several Ton Tongue Toffees – Dudley, a glutton on a forced diet, soon has a foot-long tongue protruding from his mouth; at the Quidditch World Cup they impress Ludo Bagman, Head of the Department of Magical Games and Sports at the Ministry of Magic with their fake wands. When Harry wins the 1000 Galleon prize of the Triwizard Tournament, he gives it to Fred and George to fund the joke shop they want to open.	Owing to the cutting of Ludo Bagman, the Dursleys, and any cash prizes from the Triwizard Tournament, this entire subplot disappears. Possibly as a way to give Fred and George some money after all, the twins run a betting system for each task of the Tournament.

Hogwarts School Song	The school song is not sung. It has not been sung in the entire series save for once in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.	Dumbledore suggests that Hogwarts offer a presentation of their culture after those of Beauxbatons and Durmstrang. The lyrics appear on a large banner for all to see. (Additionally, the song is sung in the main cut of the film by Hermione, Ron, and Hagrid before they find the body of Bartemius Crouch Sr.)
Karkaroff and Snape discuss the Dark Mark	Harry and Ron leave the Yule Ball to go outside and excuse themselves from Percy Weasley. There, they find Karkaroff and Snape arguing, discussing the Dark Mark, though they do not mention it by name and thus Harry and Ron don't know what they mean. As they talk, Snape discovers student couples kissing in the bushes, and he blasts away the bushes and takes away House points. He encounters Harry and Ron outside and questions their activities, but they respond that they are strolling for a breath of fresh air and Snape does nothing. A key plot point is Rita Skeeter, in her beetle Animagus form, overhearing the conversation between Hagrid and Madame Maxime, also sitting outside, about Hagrid's Giant heritage.	Harry leaves the Yule Ball. There, he finds Karkaroff and Snape arguing, discussing the Dark Mark, though they do not mention it by name and thus Harry doesn't know what they mean. As they talk, Snape discovers student couples kissing in the carriages, and he blasts open the carriage doors and takes away House points. They finish their conversation when Karkaroff storms away, and Snape retreats back inside. Neither discovers Harry, and Hagrid and Maxime are inside dancing.
The Weird Sisters	Dumbledore asks the students to clear the floor as, with his wand, he moves away all the tables as the Weird Sisters, the popular wizard rock band, enter to perform. The Triwizard champions and their dates dance to this music.	Professor Flitwick introduces the Weird Sisters. Starting in film 3, this Flitwick has been portrayed as somewhat of a musical director. Flitwick does not announce the name of the band, but instead calls them "the band that needs no introduction". As soon as the band enters, Flitwick is hauled off the stage and crowd surfs. As the champions have already danced, the crowd instead goes crazy for the popular wizard rock band and act as anyone at a normal rock concert. This scene is in a great resemblance to (and subsequently treated as) a music video for the song the band performs ("Do the Hippogriff").
