Different Stages (1998 album) at AllExperts (408 words)
The album was recorded at London's Hammersmith Odeon in 1978, during the 1994 Counterparts tour and the 1997 Test for Echo tour.
This album was compiled and released in the wake of the deaths of Neil Peart's daughter and wife in 1997 and 1998, respectively.
The album is dedicated to the memory of Neil Peart's daughter Selena, who died in a car accident in 1997, and his wife Jacqueline, who died of cancer 10 months later.
The Daily Vault Album Reviews : Different Stages (794 words)
The remaining two discs of Different Stages focus on the band's touring for Counterparts and the disappointing Test For Echo, pulling many of the selections from a show in the Chicagoland area.
Oh, longtime fans, relax - Different Stages is still a great picture of what Rush is like live, and hearing the band in two different stages of their career makes for a great package.
But Different Stages is a bit of a letdown when compared to some of their previous works.
