DigiTech is an audio company that specialises in effects pedals and consoles for guitars and basses. An effects pedal, or stomp box, is an effects unit housed in a small metal chassis, used by musicians, usually electric guitar players as a guitar effects pedal, but sometimes players of other instruments including keyboards, violin, or cello. ...

DigiTech 2112/2120: These multi-effects rackmounts by digitech are considered by many to be among the greatest achievements by this company. They were never adulated by critics due to a dislike of the original factory presets that they claim are badly programmed. Many claim that when time is taken to create new presets, the results can be very astonishing.

One success under DigiTech's belt is the Whammy pedal, a pitchshifting pedal with a variety of modes; octave down, octave up, and various harmonizing abilities. The original Whammy pedal was popularized by Tom Morello, Jonny Greenwood, Jack White, and Steve Vai. Updates of the original Whammy pedal are generally considered inferior, but are still found on many pedalboards. The Fourth edition of the Whammy pedal is more faithful to the original design, but with improved tracking. Interestingly, many guitarists have said that they prefer the slower tracking of the original Whammy. A 4th Generation Whammy Pedal A Whammy Pedal is an effects pedal produced by Digitech that bends the pitch of a guitars signal. ... Thomas Baptist Morello or Tom Morello (born May 30, 1964) is an American guitarist for the bands Audioslave and Rage Against the Machine. ... Some of the later Multi-effect boxes from DigiTech like the GNX4 and GNX3000 have an innovative concept called WARP(c). This patented feature allows an end user to create totally new Amplifier and Cabinet models by interpolating between any two existing models and immediately hearing the newly created model.

The current industry practice for creating new tones (called "patches") is limited to only allowing users to change the settings of each effect in the Multi-effect box. However the total number of Amplifiers, Cabinet and Effects modeled in a particular multi-effect box remain fixed, limiting the tonal variations possible.

WARP gives an end user the ability to easily create totally new Amplifier and Cabinet models, thereby allowing an infinite repertoire of user created tones.

At the 2007 Winter NAMM, DigiTech Unveiled their new Vocalist Live 2 and Vocalist Live 4 Pedals. These pedals contain an innovative concept called musIQ, that "listens" to the guitar chords, then produces applicable harmonies of the singer's voice.
