Dillonvale is a village located in Jefferson County, Ohio. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 781.


Geography

Dillonvale is located at 40°11'53" North, 80°46'24" West (40.198181, -80.773376)1.


According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 1.1 km˛ (0.4 mi˛). 1.1 km˛ (0.4 mi˛) of it is land and 2.38% is water.


Demographics

As of the census2 of 2000, there are 781 people, 339 households, and 234 families residing in the village. The population density is 735.5/km˛ (1,889.6/mi˛). There are 392 housing units at an average density of 369.2/km˛ (948.4/mi˛). The racial makeup of the village is 98.46% White, 0.51% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.13% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.90% from two or more races. 0.00% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.


There are 339 households out of which 25.7% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 48.1% are married couples living together, 13.9% have a female householder with no husband present, and 30.7% are non-families. 28.6% of all households are made up of individuals and 18.0% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.30 and the average family size is 2.74.


In the village the population is spread out with 20.2% under the age of 18, 7.6% from 18 to 24, 25.1% from 25 to 44, 22.0% from 45 to 64, and 25.1% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 43 years. For every 100 females there are 87.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 83.8 males.


The median income for a household in the village is $28,636, and the median income for a family is $34,625. Males have a median income of $29,500 versus $19,615 for females. The per capita income for the village is $14,446. 11.9% of the population and 8.5% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 13.2% of those under the age of 18 and 10.3% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
