History

The airline was formed in 2000 to bring together Skyway Holding's regional carriers, Air Express, Highland Air and Airborne, into one consolidated operation. Airborne began in 1984 when it was known as Sundsvall Aero. Highland Air began in September 1995 and was acquired by Skyways in March 1997. Air Express was founded in 1986 and was purchased by Skyways from major shareholder Thomas Sjo in 1999. Non-stop flights to Trondheim on Direktflyg - Luftfartsverket (244 words)
Starting on January 8, 2007, the Swedish-based airline Direktflyg will place a Fokker 50 aircraft in service on the route between Stockholm-Arlanda and Trondheim, northern Norway.
Since the Norwegian airline Wideroe has decided to discontinue its flights between Trondheim and Stockholm-Arlanda, Svenska Direktflyg AB is announcing it will start service on the route as a first step towards satisfying regional air transport needs.
The route will be flown in a Fokker 50 type aircraft, which Direktflyg will hire from Skyways Express AB.
