Dirk Verbeuren (born in Wilrijk, Belgium 1975) is a renowned heavy metal drummer, most notably recognized for his work in the Swedish melodeath band, Soilwork, and the French melodeath band, Scarve. Due to his complex and precise drum work, he has been in high demand as a session drummer. He has lent his talent to bands such as Sybreed, Lyzanxia, and Aborted, just to name a very few. Of the bands he has worked with, he is a permanent member of only Scarve (founding member) and of Soilwork (as of 2005). He uses Tama drums and Meinl Percussion cymbals. He currently resides in Los Angeles, California. Melodic death metal, (also referred to as Gothenburg metal, melodeath, Scandinavian metal, and post-death) is a subgenre of death metal. ...
