Before being named Disco Montego they were named Kaylan and produced a album called No Commandments which was a successful rnb album. Disco Montego released their debut album on WEA We Got Love in 2001 with several tracks featuring Katie Underwood formerly of girl group Bardot including the first single "Beautiful". It spawned three top 40 singles in 2002 in the Australian charts. "Beautiful" reached the top 10 in the Australian charts and was eventually certified as gold by the Australian Recording Industry Association(ARIA).^[1] It was also number 10 on the ARIA Dance Singles chart for 2002.^[2] The couple joined with Underwood to perform on the Rumba festival which toured Australia and New Zealand in the southern hemisphere spring of 2002 headlined by Bon Jovi.^[3] Katie Underwood (born 23 December 1975) is an Australian dance music artist who rose to fame in 2000 as a member of Bardot, winners of the original Popstars reality show. ... Disco Montego were planning to relocate in 2005 to Los Angeles to take advantage of their higher profile. They had performed a remix of "Sorry Seems to be the Hardest Word" by Elton John and Blue in 2003.^[7] However, their relocation plans had to be shelved when Darren Dowlut was diagnosed with cancer.
