The Division of Flinders is an Australian Electoral Division in Victoria. The division was first proclaimed in 1901.


About the electorate

The division is named for Matthew Flinders, well-known navigator and explorer. He was the first to circumnavigate Australia.

Flinders set sail for England aboard The Porpoise to secure another vessel from the British Government with which to complete his survey, but was shipwrecked on the Great Barrier Reef.
