History
Djurgårdens IF was founded 12 March 1891 at a café on Djurgården. The first real football field in Stockholm was created in 1896 and a football section of Djurgårdens IF was started in 1899. Just a few years later, in 1904, the first championship final was played, ending in a defeat against Örgryte IS.
