Dmitry Timofeyevich Yazov (Язов, Дмитрий Тимофеевич in Russian) (born 1924), Russian military figure, Marshal of the Soviet Union (1990).


In 1979-1980, Yazov was a commander of the Central Army Group. In May, 1987 - August, 1991, he held the post of Soviet Defense Minister. In 1987-1990, Yazov was a candidate for membership in Politburo. During the August Coup of 1991, Yazov was a member of the State Emergency Committee, for which he would be prosecuted and sentenced. He was freed by the amnesty of the State Duma in 1994.
