Civil air Aeroflot: Aeroflot — Russian Airlines (Russian:Аэрофло́т — Росси́йские авиали́нии), or Aeroflot (Аэрофло́т; literally "air fleet"), is the Russian national airline and is the biggest carrier in Russia.
It was also the national airline of the Soviet Union and was once the largest airline in the world.
Some airline companies which were created from the old Aeroflot are now flag carriers of the newly independent countries of the CIS — e.g., Uzbekistan Airways.
Russian airline Aeroflot's predecessors, as far as history is accurately record-ed, go back to a period between 1921 and 1932, although 1923 appears to be the true launch date of Aeroflot as we know it today.
The operations of Dobrolet extended from Moscow to Odessa in Western Russia and to Tashkent and Samarakand in Central Asiatic Russia.
Whilst the structure of Dobrolet and the government's involvement in the state-con-trolled airline was being further established with new routes and infrastructure, a sepa-rate division of Dobrolet was active in evalu-ating aircraft for the future needs.
