Doctors need to become independent in their capacities to review and select the most valid and relevant information quickly and efficiently, and medical educators must address this need.
Informationtechnologies are already having a major impact on areas such as medical imaging and pathology.
Doctors need to be able continually to evaluate new information that informs clinical practice in the context of evidence-based medicine.
