A Documentary Channel is a specialtytelevision channel which focuses on broadcasting documentaries. Some documentary channels further specialise by dedicating their programming to specific types of documentaries or documentaries in a specific area of knowledge. Los Angeles, November 7, 2002-The International Documentary Association (IDA) and Sundance DocumentaryChannel have entered into a three-year agreement under which Sundance DocumentaryChannel is the exclusive television broadcaster of the annual IDA Distinguished Documentary Achievement Awards Gala through 2004.
The intention is for the IDA Awards special to migrate to Sundance DocumentaryChannel once it launches.
