Doggystyle Records (originally Dogghouse Records) is a record label founded by Snoop Dogg at the end of his self-described "servitude" at Master P's No Limit Records. The idea of an independent record label came up when Snoop left Death Row earlier than finishing his second album Tha Doggfather. Although completing it by himself and producing the tracks alone, the vision of his own label remained unrealised. Much advertising was done by Snoop in interviews, as well as wearing "Dogghouse-branded" leather jackets and jewelry made in the shape of the Doggystyle Records logo. Finally it was independently founded in late 1999/early 2000. It started as a place to house many artists that had ties with Snoop in the past but were not currently signed to a label, as well as some newcomers. However, Snoop only used the label for his own releases, and as a result many artists left. For a time, though, several former Death Row artists who collaborated with Snoop in the early '90s were signed to the label. Its main purpose is still to endorse all copyrights for the recorded song from then on. Image File history File linksMetadata Doggystyle_logo_2. ...
