Encyclopedia > Domangart I of Dalriada

Domangart I of Dalriada, also known as Domangart mac Fergus. Domangart I was king of Dalriada. He reigned from about 501-507, following his father’s death. He married Feldelm Foltchain, daughter of Brion, son of Eochaid Mugmedon. Brion was a half-brother of the famous Niall of the Nine Hostages. This marriage is in good agreement with the revised chronology of Carney “Studies in Irish Literature and History” for the fifth century, which puts the death of Niall at about 542.
