He studied at Senigallia and later at The Pontifical Academy of Ecclesiastical Nobles, Rome, receiving the Sacred Orders as bishop in Rome, on December 20 1832. Created Cardinal in the Consitory on June 22 1866, he received the red hat and the deaconry of Santa Maria in Domnica. He was Carmelengo of the Holy Church from March 24 1884 until his death. After his death, his body was exposed at the church of Saint Eustachio, being buried temporarily in Campo Verano cemetery, Rome. Later, the countess Marcolini Solustri, daughter of the marchise Teresa Consolini in Solustri, took his bones to the Cimiterio delle Grazie di Senigallia. In his toumb one can read: DOMENICO CONSOLINI - CARDINALE - CAMERLENGO - DI S.R.C.
