Early life
Do was born Dominique Rijpsma van Hulst in 1981 in Valkenswaard, a town in the south of the Netherlands. Through the years Do always sang but didn't think of a career in the music industry. She was a gifted tennis player and when she was 15 years old she started preparations to compete in the tennis tournament Wimbledon. But she had to stop her tennis career because of an injury. That dream flew away. Wimbledon may refer to: Wimbledon, London, a town in south-west London A constituency based around it, Wimbledon (UK Parliament constituency) Wimbledon station, a train station The Championships, Wimbledon, one of the four Grand Slam tennis tournaments Wimbledon (film), a movie based on the tennis championships Wimbledon F.C., a...

Music career Before she even released a single she was a supporting act for the tour of 5ive and Montell Jordan in Holland. The first single Do released was the song Real Good. Although the music video was played a lot on the Dutch music channel TMF,it became a flop in Holland. Later in interview she says that "It wasn't my sound, and I hated the video. Thankfully it wasn't a hit, 'cause I don't want people to remember me from that song". After that Do released a second song but in association with DJ Sammy and Yanou, who is also her producer. The song was a cover of Bryan Adams song Heaven. It became an international hit. It reached the number 1 spot in several countries, like: the United Kingdom, and Australia. Because of the song's popularity and people wanting a ballad-like slow dance, a candlelight remix version was made specifically for the pure ballad-like mood. Another remix of the song was made to commemorate the September 11 terrorist attacks. It is believed to be an unauthorized remix by Kiss FM. The song features a little girl talking about her father who presumably died in the attacks, with the original chorus intermittently playing. During this time, she had some problems with the credits of the song. Everywhere she went, she was asked if she was DJ Sammy because she was not given credit on playlists. However, that was fixed on many CDs to read that Do did the vocals and that DJ Sammy and Yanou did the music. 5ive (or later known as Five) were a British boy band that some claim were quite a bit edgier and naughtier than the normal pop group. ...
