Dominus is a fictional character, a comic book villain in the Marvel Comics universe, and a highly advanced sentient super-computer complex of machinery created by the Quists (also known as "The Arcane") and controlled by Lucifer. Dominus was the channel by which this alien race named "The Arcane" conquered planet after planet. He first appeared in June, 1966, on X-MEN # 21, entitled "From whence comes... Dominus?" however he was firstly mentioned on X-MEN # 20, when Professor Charles Xavier finishes his story to Jean Grey by telling her one of the great reasons he founded the X-Men, to one day meet the further threat of Lucifer. Back at Lucifer's command post, the Supreme One checks in with his Agent, Lucifer, and says that the time is ready for his true purpose, which is to deploy Dominus! Later, the X-Men return to the school and get the message from Xavier. Dominus and Lucifer were temporarily defeated by Charles Xavier, who suffered a debilitating injury in the process. Xavier's X-Men would later defeat Lucifer.
Powers and abilities
Dominus uses his Continuum Control to alter reality, and Control to make people unaware that the change ocurred. He can actually create more than one simultaneous reality, each one attacking a specific character's mental attributes. Dominus' realities were also inspired by other times in Superman's publishing history (40's, 60's and 70's). After establishing itself in secret on the target world, it would conquer the world by covering it with rays that would remove all force of will from the inhabitants.
Dominus is a massive, highly advanced sentient computer complex created by the alien race known as the Quist, also known as the Arcane.
Eons ago, the Arcane constructed the Dominus computer complex along with the first examples of the "Ultra-Robots" that were, until recently, needed to operate it.
Dominus would be modified each time so that it could affect the minds of the specific races inhabited the target planet.
