Don Mills Road is a north-south route in Central Toronto. The road was built as a routing beside the eastern banks of the Don River (Now called Broadview Avenue) to the original mills on the Don, now called Todmorden Mills. In the 1950s, an urban "planned" community of Don Mills, was created by businessman and stable owner E.P. Taylor. The road was further extended north into North York at this time, beyond its termination at York Mills Road, where there was a "jog" along York Mills to the Third Concession east of Yonge Street, known before the 404 construction as Woodbine Avenue.
