Donald Duck appeared in many classic Disney cartoons over a number of years beginning in 1934. As storylines for the very popular Mickey Mouse cartoons became harder and harder to create, Walt turned to his explosive Donald Duck for help. Donald was a unique character and separated himself from Mickey because he was allowed to lose his temper, something Mickey just didn't do. Donald's cartoon career began in the Silly Symphony "The Wise Little Hen", where he played a secondary character. After that, he appeared in "Orphan's Benefit", his only Black & White performance. It was then that he received his unique temper tantrum trait. His cartoons after that would be labeled under Mickey Mouse cartoons, with Mickey's face appearing as the headliner. But as Donald's popularity grew and grew, he soon was given his own cartoon series, and it was his face which appeared as the headliner.
