Dong Ha is a capital city of Quang Tri Province, Vietnam. It is located at around 16°49′0″N, 107°7′60″E. Dong Ha is situated at the crossroads of National Highway 1A and Road 9, part of East-West Economic Corridor (EWEC). EWEC is an economic development program which includes: North-East Thailand, Southern Laos and Middle Vietnam. During Vietnam War, Dong Ha is the important base for battles of the nearby zone of Khe Sanh, 63 km west of Dong Ha. Khe Sanh was perhaps the fierce battle, especially during Tet Offensive, between the US army, South Vietnam army and the allied verse North Vietnam army. Khe Sanh was then commly called "The hamburger hill". Tourists come to Dong Ha nowaday, especially ex-servicemen from the US and Vietnam always include DMZ tour in their programs.
