Donnington now forms part of the new town of Telford in Shropshire, England.


MOD Donnington is a military base of the British Army, although not a major one. There are plans to reconnect the base with the railways at Wellington, which would allow it to handle more major items.

Telford is a planned town in Shropshire, England, that was named after the engineer Thomas Telford.
It is administered as part of the Telford and Wrekin unitary authority.
It was built in the 1960s and 1970s as a New town in a former coal-mining area and enveloped a number of pre-existing towns and villages, such as Dawley, Donnington Wood, Oakengates, Wellington and Madeley.
