Donovan Patton (b. March 1, 1978 in Guam), is currently the star of Nickelodeon's daytime children's television program Blue's Clues. He took over the role of Blue's owner in 2002 when actor Steve Burns quit the show (to pursue a music career), beating out 1,500 other applicants for the part. Patton, 24, is taking over as host of one of television's most popular children's shows, Nickelodeon's "Blue's Clues," on Monday, replacing Steve Burns, the show's host since its debut in December 1996.
Patton, who had rarely seen the show before he landed the job (as a struggling actor he couldn't afford cable television), has quickly come to embrace it.
